I WAS JUST WONDERING IF I AM THE ONLY PERSON WHO REPEATEDLY STEPS ON THE WRONG PEDAL ON MY B7500. IT TAKES ME A WHILE AFTER I GET OUT OF MY PICK-UP TRUCK TO GET USED OF THE FORWARD PEDAL AND THE BRAKE PEDALS BEING IN REVERSE POSITION AS THEY ARE IN THE VEHICLE.

My BX has a heel/toe, reverse/forward pedal for the right foot and a brake pedal on the same side...... is the B7500 different than that?

IT IS THE SAME, I HAVE TO REALLY THINK BEFORE I STEP ON THE FORWARD SWIVEL, AS THAT IS ABOUT THE POSITION THE BRAKE IS IN A CAR. WHEN I FIRST GOT ON THE TRACTOR I COULDN'T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY DIDN'T PUT THE BRAKE TO THE LEFT OF THE FORWARD OR REVERSE SWIVEL. ....

Could be worse.. I jump out of the truck and sometimes I fire up the 4100 gear, sometimes the BX (HST). So I have learned to stop for a minute and coach myself:
OK, this is the orange tractor, so that is the diff/lock not the clutch.
Or: This is the green tractor and that is the brake not the 'go' pedal.
I still screw up a lot, especially for the first five minutes or so. I try not to do anything that could get me hurt until I get oriented each time. ....

Yes, happens to most everybody and also is the reason for a lot of the safety check-list stuff. Humans just aren't very reliable control systems. Mark's comment about separating yourself from one routine before going to another is good. Myself, my gear tractor has a shifter on the left side of the steering column. After a hard day of loader work, I crawl into my half-ton--wondering where the handholds are and then put it in gear by signaling for a left-turn. ....

I GUESS I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT SCREW-UP. MAYBE FLATLANDERS HAVE TO THINK A LITTLE MORE THAN MOUNTAIN PEOPLE. MAYBE THE MANUFACTURERS MIGHT BE ABLE TO GET TOGETHER AND PUT ALL THE CONTROLS IN SIMILAR POSITIONS. ....

Since the arrival of my 7800 I have found myself letting off the forward pedal and trying to push the imaginary reverse pedal on the right. I had a JD 4400 for so long I can't break the habit of trying to move my foot right for reverse. I'm sure it will take a little time and everything will be fine. After all, we are creatures of habit.
